What Customers Want

17 seconds

If we are in some form of people business, then we want customers.  It is a good idea to know what your customers want - all customers!

Companies and individuals really want to get this one right.

Are you and I getting this right?

Four Opportunities Daily

39 Seconds

I’m borrowing from Kevin Hall’s book today – Aspire.  Marvelous read if you haven’t read it.

“Four things I need to recognize daily
1.    People who appear on my path to
       help me fulfill my purpose
2.    Actions taken on opportunities
3.    Thoughts that help me create a life of
       meaning and significance
4.    Moments of happiness and bliss.”

“People” are more than chance encounters.  Sometimes they are strategically placed.

“Actions” always demand response.  Missed opportunities remain “missed”.

“Thoughts” are fleeting. Capture them, act on them.

“Happiness” happens in the moment.  Be happy NOW.

PATH

P       People

A       Actions

T       Thoughts

H      Happiness

Take it Personally

20 seconds
Some things are meant to be taken personally.  Need examples?

Health
Relationships

Relaxation times
Raising responsible children
Getting an education
God

You can’t do these as a second hand, hand-me-down experiences.  You have to do it for yourself, and take the road very seriously.

Some things we take very seriously!

VERY!

21 seconds

Can you believe it?  I've found 7 words that could liberate you.

Might want to sit down for this.

Here they are:

It’s another version of the old adage – We become what we think about.

Your decisions matter.

Youth Isn't a Number

26 Seconds

If you’re over 25 I've got some great news for you.  Buckle up.

Got it?

If you use self-limiting thoughts like
  I can’t
    I’m too old.
     That’s for the young folks
        I’ll never learn that

Well, you’re in trouble.

I am still capable of accomplishing a lot of stuff.  And if I can’t today, maybe, with a bit of practice or exercise, I’ll be able to next week.

I’m as young as I wanna believe I am.

Try again Tomorrow

21 Seconds

Sometimes, the greatest courage we can show is to try again tomorrow.

So it didn't go well today.  Okay. You've got that behind you. Now what did you learn?  What will you do differently?

Love this ...

The Power of Now

24 Seconds

This will be a short one, so please remain standing, or seated.

NOW is a great time to start.
     NOW is in vogue.
          NOW is always an option.

NOW is hip, cool
NOW works almost all of the time.
          NOW earns you points.

NOW gets things done.
     NOW brings relief.
NOW is way better than never.

That’s all.  You are dismissed.

Dreams are Real

25 Seconds

Dreams exist.  They give us life and meaning.  They get us out of bed in the morning and keep us burning the light at the end of the day.

Dreams matter.

Be a dream booster – not a dream buster.

Encourage the spark when you see it in others.  You could be a part of their supply chain.  Small words of nurture, encouragement and hope from your lips to their ears could make a real difference.

Know a dreamer?

Become his/her biggest fan and watch what happens.

The Impossible Always Is

22 seconds

Don’t you hate “impossible?”  “Impossible” always looms large and uninviting.  It’s the invisible barrier that always stands in the way.

UNTIL!

Until it’s done …

Remember when running a four-minute mile was impossible?

Remember when landing on the moon was impossible?

Remember when _____?

Fill in the blank.

When We Look Back

15 seconds

When we look back what do we see?

There is value in occasionally looking back.

Did we do well?
Did we answer appropriately?
Did we act responsibly?
Did we do our best?
Did we represent our cause with integrity?

There is real value in sometimes looking back.

Every Day Power

31 Seconds

Do you realize the control and power you have in every day you live?

You may not write a whole novel in one day, but you can
write on it every day, and if you string enough “days” together you've got your novel written.

Bridges, houses, skyscrapers aren't built in a day, but they are built over a bunch of days.

I’m not as healthy today as I will be tomorrow or next month, but I’m way better than I was a year ago.  My muscles and body can prove it.

“Every day, in every way,
I’m getting better and better.”
   ('Coué, Émile)

As Julia Cameron says, “Just show up.”

Grunted Lately

38 seconds

When we do grunt work we do work that doesn’t come easy.  It takes “work” to produce work.  Some of my writing days are like that.  I love it when the ideas flow, and other days, I have to dig the words and sentences out one at a time.

And then I look back on what has happened and I say, “Well done.  Good grunt work.”

Grunting is in style you know?  Everyone has to do it sooner or later.

We grunt in …
Marriages
Raising kids
Making money
Doing our taxes
Digging ditches
Mowing lawns
And a thousand other ways.

Now, put your nose to the grind stone.
Sit down and focus.
Think.
Read.
Turn off all iGadgets

Grunt it out.

You’ll love the results.
