The Birthplace of Wisdom

This just in – the birthplace of wisdom has been found in a small cave in the Tennessee foothills.

Don’t you wish it was that simple?

Actually, wisdom does have a birthplace.

In WOUNDS!

Wounds.  Who would have thought?

If you place a hand on a hot stove, you’ll never do that again.  The burn and memory of the burn will last a lifetime.

I saw a guy shoot himself in the head the other day.  His gun quit firing; he put it down on the ground and looked straight into the barrel.  Yep.  The gun went off and took a piece of his scalp with it.

That’s gonna hurt.

We either learn from our wounds or else …

Don’t make me spell that one out for you.

Run from it-Learn from It

Everyone has a past.  Whatever it is and however large it looms, we make a conscious decision to deal with it.

This simple quote from The Lion King says it well.

"Oh yes, the past can hurt.
But the way I see it you can either
run from it, or learn from it."
– Rafiki, from The Lion King

Lessons learned about our failures are important lessons.  Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from what is past.

Commence

Let your adventure begin.  Nobody will start it for you and then hand off the reigns.

I wanted to write for nearly thirty years before I got serious about it.  Now, I wish I would have begun thirty years ago.  Look how much better I would be today.

What do you need to commence?

If you need a jump-start, here are some strong synonyms.
   ~Begin
      ~Start
         ~Originate
            ~Inaugurate
               ~Instigate
                  ~Initiate

They all lead to the same place – a place of beginning.
