But What If You Can?

The negative ninnies abound.  They will tell you in a New York minute what you can’t do.  Their mantra’s go like this:

It’s already be done before.
Who do you think you are?
What makes you think you can do this?
Are you crazy? Don’t waste your time.

These are only words.  They are just voices, and sooner or later you have to tune them out and do that thing you desire to do anyway.

The question is this … What if I can do this
thing that burns in my heart?
What if I really have a unique view, twist, angle, or idea and what if it works?

Of course, I’ve tried and failed at some goals in life.  And now I know what didn’t work.  And look what I learned.

You too can learn.  Each attempt toward a goal is a strengthening exercise.  It is a step in the right direction.

And if you learn along the way that this is not for you, so what?

But what if you can do and accomplish your ideal?

That is where the magic lives!

The Power of "We"

Please remain as you were.  I will be brief.

Mother Theresa once said, “What could I have done without my Sisters?”

The world’s greatest humanitarian recognized
the importance of honoring those who served along-side her.

Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, "Fail to honor people, they fail to honor you.

Many other leaders, gurus and speakers tell us this idea.  I’m just adding my voice.

“WE” is powerful.

That is all I have to say for today.

We Often Neglect Small Things

When I was seven I was at a baseball game, hanging out around the concession stands when my neighbor, Mr. Lambert, called me over.

He said, “Mike, come here.  I want to give you
something.”

He then reached into his pocket and handed me a shiny fifty-cent piece.

Mr. Lambert then said, “Here, I want you to have this.”  He handed it to me, smiled and walked away.

I thought I had won the lottery.  For one moment in time Mr. Lambert recognized me.

It was a small thing.  The fifty cents hardly made a dent in his income stream, but to this seven-year-old, it was a large moment.  The money lasted about ten minutes.  The memory, almost sixty years now.

Mother Theresa tells a story of offering to clean an old man’s house for him.  After many refusals, he finally agreed.  During the cleaning, she discovered an old and lovely lamp covered in dust.  She asked if he ever lighted the lamp.

He answered, “No.  No one comes to see me.  I have no need to light it.  Who would I light it for?”
She asked, “Would you light it every night if the sisters came?”
He replied, “Of course.”
From that day on the sisters committed themselves to visiting him every evening.  They cleaned the lamp, and would light it every evening.
Two years passed.  Mother Teresa had completely forgotten that man when he sent a message to her: “Tell my friend that the light she lit in my life continues to shine still.”
She says, “I thought it was a very small thing.  We often neglect small things.”
~In the Heart of the World – Mother Teresa

You see, sometimes we light a light in someone’s life that never goes out.

What a small act.

What a large impression.

Can You See the Invisible

Some people have the magical power of seeing the invisible.  Amazing but true.

Here’s the thing … Only those who can see the invisible can accomplish the
impossible.

Got it?

We see the impossible become visible every day it seems.  New gadgets, new inventions, new thoughts, new books and songs.  One year ago, one decade ago, these creations only existed in the eye of the creator.  And today we see the reality of their invisible thoughts and ideas.

What can you see today that I’ll see tomorrow?

Bring it on!
