The First Moments of a New Day

The First Moments of a New Day

I never get over the first early moments of a new day.  It is raw, astonishing.

The quietness is like none other.  The cars are few and far between, and occasionally I’ll hear a bird chirp or see the ducks land and take off from Willow Creek.

You don’t see that at noon.  You don’t get to hear that  stillness at one o’clock.

The undisturbed morning.

Thank you, God.

What Is Important ... Now?

What Is Important … Now?

Breathe in.  Breathe out.

Center yourself.  Find a place of calm and quiet.

You’re going out in a few minutes.  For now, what do you need?  How do you feel?  Offer a prayer of gratitude for whatever is on your mind.

Is there ONE important thing you need to accomplish today?  Aim for that as you go about your day.

Where There's a Will

Where There’s a Will

I heard this saying a hundred times as a boy in Tennessee.  Perhaps you’ve heard it too.

The “WILL” to do a thing is the beginning point.  Then we find a way.

I once met a seventy-six-year-old man who had just started to learn to play the flute.  You go Roy!

Desire is always the beginning of any great enterprise.

Always!
