My Cherished Reader:

It is sabbatical time for me.  After seven years of steadily churning out blogs for my six blog sites it is time for me to step away.  There will be no new posts for the next ten weeks.  I will resume with some fresh insights and thoughts after Labor Day.

Thank you for your consistent support of this blog.  I cherish your interest, your readership and your comments.

My back-list is still available and I encourage you to continue to dip into that as often as you wish.

I will post an occasional oldie-but-goodie from time to time on social media sites, but mostly this is a regathering time for me.

See you in September.

Who Holds the Pen

You are a writer and producer whether you acknowledge it or not.  And the epic story you are writing is the story of your life.  You would do a great disservice to your story if you allowed someone else to hold the pen for you.

The active word here is this:  CHOICES!

You have the great honor of making the choices for your life.  No one … NO ONE can produce your life story better than you.

~Where do you want to go?
~What dreams churn in your gut that demand to be realized?
~What is the one passion above all others that you must live out?

Don’t give the pen to someone else and allow them to write your story.

You hold the pen.

You take possession and become the greatest writer of the greatest story that could ever be told about you.

A Few Words about Taking Risks

Life itself is a huge risk. Every day we drive the roads in our town, we take a risk. Risk is an inherent part of life.

One of the great regrets of older people is that they wish they would have taken more chances.

This is pertinent to our thought today.

"The biggest risk is not taking any risk...
In a world that's changing really quickly,
the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail
is not taking risks." —Mark Zuckerberg

To just keep up with our changing world we have to take a certain amount of risks, don’t we?

I think Eleanor Roosevelt was onto something with this thought.

Risky? Oh yeah.

So what. Living is risky too.
