Thinking Can Bring Change
Thinking Can Bring Change
Thinking
Can Bring Change
And
the change starts with a change of one’s mind first. You know the drill. You hold an opinion. You are comfortable with that thought. Along comes new information, a different
slant, a challenge to your cherished ideas.
And
whether you change or not, it comes forth because of “thinking”.
Sometimes
we need a thinking space, a place we go to where we can do the hard work of reckoning
our thoughts with what is true and right for the moment.
Thinking
demands an environment in which you can try out a variety of ideas, with no
judgement on any except your own.
Thinking, I think, means you have to have to some bad ideas to stand
beside the good ones.
I’ve
done my thinking in my office, along Sunset Drive, at the beach in Kona, in
libraries, in coffee shops and in noisy tire stores.
The
main point is this … you own your thoughts.
Use your power of choice wisely.
Something to
think on,
in about 60
seconds.

Unplug
Unplug
Need
a quick remedy for any electronic device that suddenly quits working? Unplug it.
This
works with cell phones when frozen on a screen or an app.
Computers
Toasters
And
just about any other gadget in your home.
And
it works for you and me. Sometimes we
just need to unplug. Carolyn and I love
the short, three-day get-a-ways. We
often program three or four of those into our lives each year. We just returned from one such trip to
Victoria, BC.
Unplugging
works wonders.
Something to
think on,
in about 60
seconds.

Spaces and Places
Spaces
and Places
I’m
in one of my favorite spaces at the moment.
I have several.
This
one is an independent coffee shop near my church. I have an hour, so here I sit, writing.
This
is actually a rustic, non-descript place.
Fake linoleum flooring, orange walls, pictures on every wall of every
description, and the music could become a distraction if I listened long
enough.
I
come here because it affords me privacy and a great space to write. Sooner than soon, I tune out the music and
the walls. I like this space and place.
I
need spaces like this. My home office is
one that I cherish. Starbucks sometimes
becomes a space I’ll use, as have tire stores, busy malls, and a Jack-n-the-Box
last Monday.
I
need my spaces. I need to let this stuff
out that cogitates inside of me.
Where
do you go to find your spaces and places?
Something to
think on,
in less than
60 seconds.
