Bad Day - Not Bad Life

Life happens.  And we roll with the flow.  Rarely do I have what is called a “bad day”.  If one comes along, I take it for what it is and philosophize that it is a temporary situation or set of circumstances.  After all, tomorrow is a new day.

And that is that.

One bad day does not set me up for a failed life.

And now this …

That is all I have for today.

Standing Still

One of the great regrets of the aged is that

they stood still. Oh, they didn’t put it in those terms. What they said was this … “I wish I would have taken more chances.”

Put it another way – I should have gone more, done more, experienced more.

Standing still may be a good strategy in hide-and-seek, but to experience a full and rich life with no regrets – move, act, learn and become.

You never know where that may lead.

That is all I have to say for today.

An Edited Life

What has social media done to us?  Consider this, for instance:

“We edit our personalities and lives on-line to get the hoped-for response from others – affirmation and attention.

“Social scientists tell us that the more time we spend on social media, the happier we perceive our friends to be, and the sadder we feel consequently.”
~Christianity Today -  January/February 2017

This seems to me to be the opposite of living a full and meaningful life.  Are all of you really all that happy?  Am I really that great?

Are we sad about our own apparent lack of a good life?  Social media tends to make us think so.

My advice – get a grip.  Approve of yourself.  You are not as bad as all that and “they” are not as good as all that.

That is all!
