Pencils Have Erasers

Pencils have erasers.
   Computers have delete keys.
      Cars have a reverse.

What do you have?

-Do you have some kind of built-in editing and monitoring mechanism?
-Can you take a step backwards when necessary?
-Can you offer an apology when needed?
-Can you make amends for a mistake, a miss-judgment, or a wrong call?

It is said that Henry Ford forgot to put a reverse gear in his first automobile.  He learned from that mistake.

My reverse gear works very well, thank you.  I've had to exercise it a time or two in my life.

We love perfect.
We adore humble and a willingness to correct a wrong.

Think about that one.

Seeds and Things

Seeds grow and become whatever they are destined to become.

Seeds can push their way up through some hard places and burst open into possibilities.

So can your seeds.

Napoleon Hill is famous for this idea:

“Every adversity, every failure and every heartache
carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.”

If we scratch below the surface of a setback, we can find the seeds to jump-start our next opportunity.

Think about that one.

It’s called “Learning from mistakes.”

Don't Censor Your Dreams

Are you a dreamer?
Are you a believer in your dreams?
Are you a dream censor?

Abandon the censor mindset, especially when it comes to your dreams.
  -Dreams don’t need censors.
  -Dreams need exercise.
-They need freedom to go and explore.
-Dreams need expressing and breathing in the early days.

And you, especially you – don’t censor your dreams!  Free your dream-making mechanism.  Let it float freely.

You never know where a dream will lead you.

Just hold tightly to the kite-string of your dream and watch it soar.

Some fine day you’ll be ready to reel it in and make something of it.

Until then … let it fly.

What Am I Even If I Fail

Carolyn and I listened to a Brene Brown podcast this morning.  I was reminded once again of her great line:

What’s worth doing even if I fail?
~Brene Brown
Daring Greatly

What are you even if you fail?

And the answer is this – You are very brave.  You just dared greatly.

You are not less than you were before.
You showed great bravery and courage.

You Dared Greatly!

Now, next time, you’ll know some things that didn't work and you can avoid those next time around.

Thank you for your bravery.

Explore

Let’s explore some uncharted territory - SELF”.

Consider these questions as guides on your journey.

-What am I good at?
-If I could do anything in the world, what?
-Where is my ideal place to live?

-What is my personality type?
-To whom am I attracted and why?
-What kind of person rubs me wrong and why?

-What kind of discipline did my parents use?
-How has that discipline positively or negatively affected me?
-What kind of leisure reading do I enjoy?

-Am I a leader or follower?
-Am I creative?
-Am I a hands-on learner?
-Am I an auditory learner?

Love this quote:

“When you’re lying on your deathbed, one of the really cool things to say is, “I really explored myself.”
~Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D.
