It May Not Work

I tried my hand once at selling tree trimming.  The guy training me made over $70,000 per year.  It didn't work for me.  I was a flop.

A salesman-type personality cannot sell anything and be a success.  Something has to resonate with him/her for the connection to be made on the inside.

My friend Bob started an auto parts business.  He just couldn't get a jump-start on it.  He went on to be a huge success as an attorney and then a city judge.

Sometimes we have to try a few things that don’t work to know what does, and then throw ourselves fully into that venture.

Happiness Is Not a Sin

You may think this is a silly title for a blog.  However, consider this.

In a recently published book … Top Five Regrets of the Dying, author Bronnie Ware listed this as the number five regret:  “I wish I had let myself be happier.”

Allow me to restate the obvious:

Live in the present.

     Savor every joy.

          Celebrate the small moments.

               Be happy NOW!

Are You Thirsty

Thirsty people find a way to quench their thirst.  Simple thought isn’t it?

Let’s play with this for a moment.

For what are you thirsty?

~To build an enterprise
~To be the best at whatever it is you wish to be the best
~To write an epic novel
~To own your own home or business

Seth Godin says this:

He put that in his latest book - What to Do when It’s Your Turn

Quench your thirst at the bar of hard work, industriousness, knowledge, plans and dreams.

Make the time for what matters.

Take a long drink from that well.

A Word about Stupid

I hate stupid.

Have you ever been “stupid”?  I imagine you have, just like me.

What does “stupid” mean?

"Stupid" just means you don't know IT yet.  Stupid mans you haven't practiced enough, studied enough, or done the act enough to break it down and turn "it" into a useful tool or habit.  Stupid means it's not knowledge yet - it's just new.

“New!”  I understand “new”.  “New” and “Stupid” seem to be a lot alike.

Every time we learn a new skill we are usually “stupid” at first.  We are clumsy, slow as molasses, inconsistent, and usually have to ask a lot of questions.

And then one fine day “stupid” fades and the new skill and knowledge remain.  What a fine day that is.

Stupid leads to knowledge.  Who would have thought?
