What We Want

John Maxwell reminds us of this timeless principle.

What most people want is to be listened to, respected, and understood.

Listened to:
Giving significance to my words, feelings and expressions

Respected:
Recognized as a person of worth and treated with common decency.

Understood:
You may not agree, but at least understand my point.

Sales people really need to heed these words, and ministers, managers, parents, spouses, politicians, pundits, comedians, commentators, bakers, bikers, and a few thousand others.

It’s called common decency!
