There
are three things in life that can destroy a person. Whatever you do, do not fall victim to these.
~Anger
~Pride
~Unforgiveness
Anger
Anger
never works. It often acts like a
cancer, eating away on the person who is angry rather than affecting the one
toward whom the anger is directed. It is
like eating empty calories – chips, cookies – they may taste good but where is
the nutritional value? And I question
whether anger really does ‘taste good’.
Pride
I
recall an ancient scriptural text that says this: Pride goes before a fall.
There
is such a thing as a ‘good pride’. I
have pride in the writing I do on most days.
That’s good – it is a form of self-acceptance.
However
– pride that is of a ‘better than others’ stripe stinks.
We
had a joke in college that went like this: “I’m proud I’m humble.”
Pride
is a dangerous attribute. Consider these
synonyms
Conceit
Smugness
Egotism
Vanity
Superiority
These
attitudes can be sensed from a long way off.
Un-forgiveness
Are
you ever in need of mercy, compassion, understanding, tolerance and
pardon? Then you are one in need of
forgiveness.
What
a horrible sentence it is to aim Un-forgiveness against another person.
Reconciliation
– now that is the next step after Un-forgiveness.

Reconcile

~Resolve
~Merge
~Join
We
need a good dose of merging our hearts after a fallout, don’t you think?
