Don't Wait for the Mail Man

Don’t Wait for the Mail Man
44 sec.

Many good things come in the mail.  For some, the arrival of the mailman might be the highlight of their day.

However, there are some things that just can’t be shipped by US Mail, UPS, FedEx, email or slow boat across the Atlantic.

Want to know?

Here it is.  This is important.

“Your self esteem
isn’t going to arrive
by mail.”
Anne Lamont

You have to go looking for it.
You have to explore yourself.
You have to read
some trusted authors.

And you have to believe in your own goodness, your own abilities, and your own sense of worthiness.

You are a worthwhile individual.
You have to believe that and accept it.

Your own inner qualities will amaze you once you believe in YOU!

Hold onto Your Essentials

Hold onto Essentials
50 secs

When I was in the ninth grade, I carried a snare drum in the high school marching band for the first time.  This was HUGE!

At our first half-time show, we lined up on the goal-post line.  The whistle sounded and off we marched.

Between the goal-post line and the goal line I dropped one drum stick.  Between the goal line and the ten-yard line I dropped the other drum stick.

I had to march 90 more yards simply holding onto my drum instead of playing it.

You see, I dropped my essentials.

What are your essentials?

*To a drummer – sticks.
*To a minister – reputation.
*To a retail store – customers.
*To a married couple – love.
*To business partners – trust.

We have to hold onto our essentials.  We can’t afford to let our guard down, fumble, or take our eye off the prize for even one minute.

Get a grip.  Hold onto your essentials.

Faith

Faith
46 secs.

When it comes to faith, many are non- believers.
-They believe they will fail.
-They believe the light at the end of the tunnel is a train.
-They believe there is a difficulty in every responsibility.

And the big one – Difficulties seldom defeat people; their lack of faith in themselves defeats them.

It’s good when others have faith in us, but unless we believe that for ourselves, we will continue to spin and sputter in self-doubt and self-distrust.

Faith is an inside job.  We have to grab onto the belief in our abilities to do a thing, and once we do, then watch out world.

Never stand in the way of a believer.
Never stand in the way of a doer.

Believe you can.  Go and become a doer.

Size Matters

Size Matters
40 sec.

Are you big in the areas that matter?

You know – the size of your hope, for instance?

Just how big is your hope?  Has it grown into a dream?

Zig Ziglar once said …

"Men are limited
not by the color of their skin
but by the size of their hope."

I am not content just to be a blog writer.  No way.  I have bigger writing dreams.  They started with these blogs and now encompass finishing my first book and getting it published.  Then I’ll add a more active speaking schedule, other books, and all the while I’ll continue with these blogs.

I have a stated goal of having 2 million readers around the world.

This is my hope.

My hope has become my dream.

What is your dream?

Jonathan was No Ordinary Bird

Jonathan was No Ordinary Bird
51 sec. to read

It’s story-time.

Jonathan was no ordinary bird.  He was a seagull, but he was not ordinary.  You see, he was willing to try and try again.

He loved to fly.  Jonathan would rather fly than eat.
Sometimes he made mistakes, but he learned from them.
… and he got very good at flying.

Most seagulls were afraid to fly in the dark, but not Jonathan.  Jonathan painted outside the lines, you see.

A person can learn a lot from Jonathan.

No, Jonathan was no ordinary bird.

He was a Great Bird.

And he became great by trying, and flying, and sacrificing, and making mistakes, and flying in the dark, and painting outside the lines.

He Became GREAT.

The End!

And now, you get to make whatever applications you wish from our story today.

Above all, have fun flying.
