How to Live

How to Live
47 seconds

The cover of this week’s Time Magazine caught my eye today.  It boldly proclaimed the headline “How to Die”.  Got my attention.  Yours too, probably.

Rather, let’s focus for 47 seconds on how to live.

1.       Eat to live rather than live to eat.
2.      Develop a healthy relationship with your medical professionals.  Pick well, visit them as needed, and develop a partnership.  They care and want to keep you around – if you show you too want to hang around.  Otherwise, they’ll just throw some pills your way and let you deal with your lot in life.
3.      Add some form of exercise to your routine every week. Books abound on how often, what types, etc.  Just do it!
4.      Laugh often.
5.      Love much.

I know much of this from personal experience.  I’m discovering now how important these factors can be.

Join me.

It’s a great way to live.

Driving

Driving
(36 sec.)

When you drive you get to make the decisions.

-Do I turn right or left?
-Do I go fast or slow.
-Do I go here or there?

Choices.

That’s the art of driving.

Every bend in the road, every turn, every mile determines what you see and experience.  Are you driving well?

Are you going places or just sightseeing?

There are a dozen, maybe a thousand stops one could make along the way.

Are they good places?
Are they worth while?
Will they get you where you need to go?

I think you’re smart enough to figure out this metaphor.

Now be smart enough to make good choices.

Go good places.

I Trust You

I Trust You
53 seconds

Trust is one of those HUGE words that we so want to see demonstrated today.  How many people fit into your TRUST box?

We want desperately to trust
 -Elected officials.     -Spiritual Leaders
   -Teachers                  -Parents
      -Kids                        -Store clerks
        -Banks                     -Internet experiences

Why do you trust the people you trust?

Chances are they have proven,
at some point and on many occasions past,
that they are – well, trustworthy.

Let’s review some synonyms for “trust”.
~Faith     ~Belief     ~Conviction     ~Reliance     ~Dependence

Good Words, all of them.
                                                Good attributes.

It takes time to learn trust.

It takes experience to learn trust.

It takes confidentiality to learn trust.

It takes consistency.

Let us become agents of trust for those on our path.  Build it one word, one experience, one day at a time.

Here – Here!

Big on the Inside

Big On the Inside
(A 36-sec read)

A man once took his young daughter to the carnival.  Once inside the gates, the young girl immediately ran to a food vendor and asked for cotton candy.  As the attendant handed her a huge ball of it, the father asked, “Sweetheart, are you sure you can eat all of that?”

“Don’t worry, Dad,” she answered, “I’m a lot bigger on the inside than on the outside.”

What a mouthful.  That’s what we need – people bigger on the inside.

That’s integrity.
     That’s righteous living.
          That’s living large.
               That’s living true blue.

How is your size – inside?

Are you big on the inside?

I hope so.

That’s my goal too.

Conversations with Self

Conversations with Self

It’s the age old saying-“You become what you think about.”

What conversations are you having with yourself?  This is important.

Zig Ziglar says “Sometimes we suffer with stinking thinking.”

Suggestion:  Choose a couple of strong and applicable aphorisms that you like and feed on them for a while.

It’s a matter of reconditioning your mind.

Repeat them.
                         Believe them.

And do this for as long as it takes.

Your inner voice is listening.
