How Did You Make Them Feel?

How Did You Make Them Feel?

Maya Angelou said it.  “I may forget what you said.  I may forget what you did.  I will never forget how you made me feel.”

What power and magic that holds when used in appropriate ways.

Reminds me of a Bible verse:  “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my God.”

We all have had harsh words tossed our way.  Ouch!  Perhaps we’ve done the tossing.

Ah, but what about the esteeming words we’ve heard?

Have you heard words like these?
 ~You did a great job.
~I love how you listened to me just now.
   ~You are a true professional.
~You’re about the best I’ve ever seen at what you do.
~You always follow through. Thank you so much.

Always remember the power of the right word spoken at the right time.

Another Stab at Choices

Another Stab at Choices

See the pictures?  We offered opportunities.  But which one is best, or most interesting, or better, or right, or wrong?

Ah, therein lies everyone’s dilemma.  Which one indeed.

That is the beauty of having choices.  We get to explore, go places and do things never done before.

We get to choose.

And if we make a bad choice?

When you see enough of the danger signs, I suppose you could turn around and retrace your steps.

That is a choice too.

I Survived

I Survived

Eight months ago, I survived open heart surgery.
That is one of the badges I wear, and I am thankful and proud of that fact.

What have you survived?  If you’re reading this, then surely you have survived something in life.

Tell us about it.  Celebrate your survival, and be aware that you, too, are a survivor.

Some of the stuff we’ve had to endure is pure hell.  And when we come out on the other side, celebrate that.

Just a smidgeon of some stuff I’ve survived.
     Divorce
     Bankruptcy
     Job changes
Drug addiction of one I cared for
     Heart surgery

I’m editing this on Saturday, August 25, 2018.  Just yesterday, Friday, I spent 5 hours in an ER in Lebanon, Tennessee.  My heart acted up again.  Good news is I survived that too.  We’re back home in Seattle and I’m getting back to normal.

There is more stuff I’ve survived, and that is enough for now.

Focus on your survival.  Be proud of what you’ve come through.
