It’s
Not the Biggest Tree
We
have two Christmas trees this year. First time for that. Last year, because of my impending surgery,
we opted for a small, fake one. It
worked. We figured it would get tossed
this year.
However
…
Saturday
night we bought our normal live Christmas tree, except it is a tiny bit smaller
than other years. So, one is in its
normal spot in the corner, and the fake one is in our bedroom.
I
kind of like that.
The
thought just hit me … the size is not what matters at Christmas. The lights still sparkle, the decorations
still look beautiful. Christmas is not
diminished by the size of our tree.
Christmas
looms as large as ever. For me,
Christmas is an extension of Thanksgiving.
I’m thankful for so much that we receive … we have enough love, enough
warmth, enough food. We laugh
often. We listen to some amazing
music. We say the words that esteem.
What
a nice pause, to acknowledge enough in a world that seems to demand more.
Something to
think on,
in less than
60 seconds.
