The Sacrifices We Make at Christmas

The Sacrifices We Make at Christmas

We have a Christmas tree in our bedroom.  First time ever for that.  It is last year’s tree, artificial, 4 ft. tall.  We like it.  The lights are colorful and it is a pretty little 'thang'.

Carolyn can’t sleep at night if we leave the lights on on that tree.  I like them on.  What a dilemma.  So, I’m the noble one and I make the sacrifice.

Now this is silly.  It’s not really a sacrifice.  I love her too much to allow this smallness to interfere.

And we’re not letting any other situations crop up to disrupt this season.

We don’t fight over dark or light meat.
We don’t fight over red lights or blue lights.
We don’t fight over which music to play.
We don’t fight over ANYTHING.

Really, we sacrifice preferences for peace and joy, sharing and caring, fun and laughter.

What sacrifices are you making?

Something to think on,
in less than 60 seconds.
